If you want your child to have the best and healthiest smile possible, it’s best to replace their cute little dinosaur toothbrush at the right times. However, that might be a difficult task if you’re not sure when you should replace their brush. So, to help you, our Treasured Smiles Children’s Dentistry, Duane C. Clouse, PC team recommends replacing your child’s toothbrush:

-After 3-4 months: After your child has used their toothbrush for 3-4 months, it stops effectively removing the plaque and bacteria from your child’s teeth and gums. The toothbrush also harbors bacteria and germs in the bristles each day, so using a new, clean toothbrush will keep your child’s health in tip-top shape.

-When the bristles are frayed: If the bristles are frayed or worn out, they no longer provide a proper cleaning job. In fact, not only do they stop cleaning your child’s smile, but they might also harm and damage your child’s gums.

-After they’ve been sick: It’s very important to replace your child’s toothbrush after they have been sick. If you don’t, the bacteria will live in the brush and will increase your child’s chances of becoming infected with the sickness once again.

If you use these tips, your child will have the best tool to clean their smile.
