Our pediatric dentist and team know how important your child’s dental exams are to their oral health, and we encourage you to take your child to the dentist every six months. These visits enable us to screen for any undiagnosed oral conditions, including a chronic dental issue or a painful tooth.

If your child struggles with chronic dental pain, he or she may not notify you that something is wrong, potentially because he or she doesn’t understand what is occurring. Untreated dental problems can cause issues with speaking, eating, and concentrating, and may cause your child to struggle with school or miss school days. Sometimes, the only noticeable sign that your child has a dental problem is that he or she appears tired, depressed, or anxious.

To evaluate your child’s dental health, Dr. Duane C. Clouse and our team will take an assessment of the following:

— The eating habits of your child
— How well your child maintains their teeth
— Dental treatment your child underwent in the past, and any current dental needs
— Your child’s access to fluoride
— Any health or lifestyle factors that could make your child more vulnerable to oral diseases

Our dentist and team will examine your child’s mouth for signs of dental problems, and may use dental X-rays to form an accurate picture of their health. Our goal is to ensure your child receives the appropriate dental care.

We recommend that you bring your child to Treasured Smiles Children’s Dentistry every six months for a dental exam and cleaning.
