Is your child more frightened of the dentist than the monster under the bed? If so, then we have a few tips for you on how to make your child’s dental experience at Treasured Smiles Children’s Dentistry, Duane C. Clouse, PC a lot less intimidating.

1. Check your vocabulary when you are speaking to your child about their dental cleaning. Focus on the positive; use words like “clean,” “healthy,” and “strong”. The words you use to play a significant role in how your child views the world.

2. Lend your child a device so they can listen to music or watch his or her favorite movie during treatment. After all, who wouldn’t want to go to the dentist if it means they can watch their favorite shows?

3. Check your behavior. Are you being a good example? The way you act at the dentist’s office has an important impact on how your child views the dentist. Actions speak louder than words.
